There’s something about a Rye Town Hall wedding, full of character and tradition but also quirky! Ben got ready at home, while Ali got ready at The Hope Anchor pub in Rye itself. Ali wore a gorgeous lace wedding dress by Shanna Melville and her and her bridesmaids carried simple bouquets of Gypsophila. After the emotional ceremony in Rye Town Hall the Town Crier announced them on the steps, and led them and their guests back to their car, whilst ringing the bell, which is traditional in Rye! It was so much fun, with the whole of Rye stopping to watch Ali and Ben (who are actually quite shy!) laugh their way down the street. And that’s how a Rye Town Hall wedding charms you!
Whilst the guests made their way back to the reception, Ali and Ben and I went to have some barefoot photos on the beach at Camber Sands. It was lovely and windswept, and so sweet to have some portraits of just the two of them alone together. Afterwards we went back to Ben’s parents house where they had decorated a marquee with yellow flowers and gypsophila. Ben’s mum had made his favourite cake for their wedding cake – a chocolate hedgehog! Pan Global Catering cooked a delicious paella while the guests mingled, and the speeches were hilarious. It was a lovely, relaxed wedding filled with so much love and laughter.
