This was my first Northbrook Park winter wedding, so far over the last 13 years I’ve actually only been there in the spring or summer so it was lovely to be there for a gorgeous wintery day! I photographed Anisha’s sister’s wedding at RHS Wisley last year so I was really looking forward to seeing everyone again. As they have been to lots of summer weddings they decided to go for a winter wedding. A few days before the weather suddenly turned and it became really cold, we woke up with a wonderfully misty winters day which looked gorgeous for photos. Anisha wore a stunning fully beaded white dress by an Indian designer, it was so heavy and sparkled beautifully! David wore black tie, which has to be my favourite for winter weddings, it looked so smart, with a velvet jacket.
Because their ceremony time was at 2:30pm we decided to do a first look outside before the ceremony with just the two of them, meaning we had lots of time to spend on portraits while it was still light. It was freezing cold but beautiful light. Afterwards the ceremony was held in the Vine Room, complete with Christmas tree and candles. They ended the ceremony with a sing a long which was such a lovely surprise, followed by joyful confetti. We braved the cold for group photos while the reception drinks were held in the Vine Room.
I popped along to photograph the Orangery set up, once before the sun went down and then afterwards when it was dark and lit by candles. They had decorated the beams with foliage and it made the room look so romantic. The purple glassware, purple napkins and each individually decorated silver bauble worked so well with the wintery candlelit theme. It was truly beautiful. Their cake was a giant chocolate log in honour of David’s mum.
The speeches were emotional and full of laughter. Afterwards they had fun in a photobooth before dancing the night away to a band. It was the perfect Northbrook Park winter wedding and so lovely to end the year on.
