ABOUT ME
Hi, I’m Tarah!
It’s great to meet you!
I really do have the best job in the world, and after nearly 400 weddings I still love it. I have been photographing weddings full time since 2011. I live in Brighton with my lovely husband Nathan, plus two small humans, Finn (4) and Bailey (2) and two very fluffy cats, Merlin and Izzy.
Nathan and I met in London and it holds a special place in my heart so I go back all the time to see friends and photograph weddings. We were married in the woods of Holkham Estate in Norfolk and moved to Brighton in 2014.
I have photographed weddings all over the country, plus Italy, France and Croatia too. I now work mainly in Sussex, Surrey and London, or anywhere approximately 2 hours drive from Brighton which can cover Kent and Hampshire too.
I am recommended at lots of venues across those counties, including Firle Place, Montague Farm, London Rowing Club, RHS Wisley, Field Place, Northbrook Park etc. I’ve photographed church and civil ceremonies, festival weddings, stately home weddings, barn weddings…I love how varied this job is!
MY WEDDING STYLE
natural, relaxed, fun
Most of my clients hire me because they don’t love having their photo taken. They have been to weddings where the couple have disappeared for the whole drinks reception to do photos and missed it all and they really don’t want that for their wedding. That’s not how I work. I want you to have a wonderful, relaxed day where you get to speak to all those people you’ve chosen to invite.
Before the day we always go through a schedule so that we make sure you have lots of time for everything you need. I want to make sure you’re having the most fun you can have and not worrying about time. During the day I photograph calmly and discreetly in the background, capturing all the moments as they happen, letting you enjoy your day. I will come and grab you for a few groups photos, but I’ll have a list and do them as fast as possible.
And later on we’ll head off for a few portraits too, just the two of you. I won’t make you do anything awkward, it’s about you guys being you, having a walk and a chat, and I’ll give you a little direction too to get the most out of our time so you’re not away for too long. The aim is to alway just have fun and to feel more as though you have a friend there with a camera than a bossy wedding photographer.
“Tarah is so kind and calm, she made the day go so easily for us and we are really glad that we chose her to photograph our day. Somehow she got gorgeous photos out of these two awkward people!”

MY FAMILY
After a long and emotional time with IVF we finally had Finn in 2019, followed by Bailey in 2022. It’s made me really appreciate family photography. It’s pure chaos most of the time but there’s so much joy in it. I love capturing those moments for other people.
I know everyone says it and it’s a real cliche, but they really do grow up so fast. Only yesterday Finn was this tiny, scrunchy newborn and now he’s 4 and independent but still cuddly and he’s changing daily. It’s only when you look back at photographs that you realise how much they’ve changed – and you really do risk missing it all.
Let’s Chat
I always like to chat first before you book. We can talk about all your plans, I can explain the way I work so we make sure I’m definitely the one for you. Every photographer is different, you’re not just hiring me for the photos I’ll take, you need to be able to spend all day with me too.
